What's the process for renewing my Arizona CCW permit since the laws have recently changed?

There have indeed been some changes to the renewal process for the Arizona CCW Permit in the past few months.  In Arizona you can now renew your CCW permit by mail.  If the Arizona Department of Public Safety has your current address on file, you will be mailed a renewal application approximately 90 days before your permit expires.  You simple fill out the renewal application and return it with a certified check or money order for $43 payable to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.  You should receive your new permit in 2-3 weeks.  Make sure that you submit your application within 60 days of your permit expiration or you will be required to complete the 8 hour class again.  No fingerprint card is required for your renewal.  If you need to update your address, you can visit the DPS website at:
www.dps.gov/ccw
Look under the downloadable forms link for a ‘change of address’ form.  You can download the form, fill it out and mail it to DPS at the address indicated on the form.
